Hello, I've known about Jenny Everywhere for quite a while but I didn't really start checking the stuff out till I read David Barnett's Article on the Guardian website. Needless to say, I loved the idea of an open source character, and am amased at what some of the creators have done with the idea, I could go on all day about how great the character is, but she speaks for herself, so i don't have to.
I'd noticed that the Jenny community had quietened down somewhat, which is a shame, so I thought It only fair to throw in my lot and see if I could contribute. Its one of my dreams to be able to break into a career in comics, and while thats a rather difficult path to take, I know partaking in a productive project like this can only help me on that path.
I've been self teaching myself to draw for about a year and a half now, and I've come leaps and bounds since then. I'm rather new to the whole wrokings of webcomic though. I've never ran a website or anything like that, most of my bits and bobs have been posted on blogs or forums over the years, so I'm not entirely sure about where to post anything I can contribute, I notice that most creators have full time webcomics.
Woo, that was long winded! So I supposed this was a sort of introduction sorts, and I'd just like to know anything you guys think I should know and how I could help out and contribute. I also wouldn't mind a crack at that comic jam, but I'm not sure what the system behind it is.
so, cheers everybody, thanks for any advice and good work on keeping the spirit of Jenny alive. (and cheers for humouring me)

Well, I've been really busy and the website had been a huge pain to recode, so I have been in a slump. I do have some more Jenny stuff I need to upload, but much of it is old. There may be a couple of written stories I need to upload as well. I should take some time off this spring to spruce up the site a bit with content I need to upload.
In any case I'm sure Jenny will perk up now and again.
Also, these particular forums have never really been that active.
As far as contributions, they can always be mailed to the website. If hosted elsewhere, e-mail links instead. There's Always DrunkDuck.com for comic, and DeviantArt.com for art.

Yeah I know what you mean, time does have a tendancy to get on top of you when you're trying to do stuff. I was planning on posting on here ages ago, but work just got in the way of me finding time.
I understand about the forums, there dosn't seem to be a Jenny community per se, but this seemed like the best place to ask around at.
Been tempted to start up a devientart account, still in two minds about it. But I suppose I might start work on something soon. thanks.

There was probably more of a community on the Old Barbelith Forums than here... but that was only because the community themselves started her up... I am not knowing about if she is talked about much there or not... they don;t seem to be taking new accounts.. or I'm doing it wrong. I would like to know if anyone can give me contact information for a lot of the work I have hosted here... Much of this, I don;t have direct permission to host, mostly because I don;t know who they are.... ![]()

Yeah I was looking up Barbelith , but its a funny old forum (and i mean that in the nicest possible way), there didn't seem to be much going on when I checked it out last. Hmm, probably worth investigating though. cheers.

Well, I was snooping around in the archives a few months a go and found some Jenny stuff that didn't get reported. I think those made it up online already though.

Well, finally got off my backside and done something, I could talk for hours about this but I think I'll just keep it short. Wasn't sure where how to go about announcing this, so I thought I'd just mention it here.
Short Jenny strip about a train robbery, with an Homage to to Jennys that have come before. ![]()

They that's pretty cool ![]()
When I get the site updated again, I can merely post links or host the whole thing in sequence.

Thanks Fes, good luck with the new site update

Actually, I guess I was asking if you wanted me to simply link out, or host them in series on the Archive
(My default is to Link out)

Oh right, well, whatevers easiest for you will do, I don't want to sound all egotistical and demand to be hosted in the archive, ha! But yeah either way is fine by me. I'll probably end up hosting them somewhere on a site I plan on setting up for my own stuff in the coming months if all goes to plan (though nothing ever goes to plan).

Rail Shift is now up on The Shifter Archive at:
