Hi guys, just registered to the forum, so I'm new. Been following the Jenny Everywhere concept for about a year now, tried to get a comic put together for it last year, but I'm only a writer and the artist I was working with disappeared from the net, so nothing happened with that.
Anyway, since then I've been considering trying to get something done in a medium which I can actually do stuff for myself, so our student filmmaking society is considering working on a short film based on the idea. It might be cool, it might not be.
Before we go through with it though, I just wanted to ask if it would be considered acceptable, what with Jenny originally being conceived as a webcomic character and all. Of course, we'll put the 'All rights reversed' paragraph in the film, either as a pre-title text display or in the end credits.
I just wanted to make sure the idea was supported by people already involved in making Jenny Everywhere stories, before I went ahead and did it.
Sorry to bother you, hope you like the idea. ![]()

You can place Jenny Everywhere in any and all type of media. The rules all apply the same way ![]()
Though as getting the "support" by people that currently work with, and have worked with Jenny may be a shot in the dark as I am sure many of them don't visit this forum
At best you can post in the chatbox on the main site about your idea, and I can also put up some production shots on the main site as well once you start doing it..
Like I said, the medium does not matter to most people that have worked with Jenny. What does matter most is how you use her, and if it plays well to the character that is more or less established. To some people, various Jenny Everywheres may not be considered "true" Jenny's because of how a story went or how her personality was portrayed (Like I know that some people did not agree with the "New York Chaos" version of Jenny, particularly how it ended... which is also the only story to my knowledge that had been in question).
But I've been hoping for (1) a video (2) an animation (3) a photocomic of Jenny to come out for a long time. I've attempted to put together #3 and have has ideas for #2 and for #1. I would love to see this film thing take off, and The Shift Archive would love to help out (if we can), or at least mention it and plug and such once it's underway and finished and such.
At least keep us posted!![]()

Well, I'm glad to have an endorsement of sorts from you at least, Fesworks.
As for the film project, it's still early days right now. I'm working on the script at the moment, but it's going to be a challenge with the constraints I have to work with. I need to come up with a script which can fit into less than 15 minutes of screen-time, is low-budget friendly and manages to do justice to the character. And before we even get round to filming it, I have another project to get made first.
All the same though, I'll keep you posted on developments with the project and hopefully by the start of May next year I'll have been able to get it made. If not, I'll have left university by then and I'll have to find another way of getting it done.
Well, until next time, ja na!

For what it's worth, I've written Jenny Everywhere prose fiction (as have others). I think a Jenny Everywhere short film would be cool. Good luck with your project!
